FAQs

When should I book my spray tan for my special event?

After your spa services and about 2-3 days prior to your event. Otherwise you may have to come back for a follow up session if you get your waxing, manicure, pedicure, etc. done after your spray tan.

How long do your spray tans last?

Depending on a person's activities and skin type, the tan lasts approximately 5 to 7 days (up to 10 for some people). The "life span" depends on your own skins natural exfoliation. The DHA only affects the top layer of your skin and will begin to fade in 4-5 days. Following a good skin care regimen BEFORE and after your tan is key to getting the most out of your spray tan. We also sell pro-long color extending moisturizers and touch up sprays with DHA to maintain your tan.

What kind of products do you use?

We offer state of the art Norvell™ solutions and extenders. These all natural products are safe for sensitive skin. Norvell™ solutions are made with ECO-cert DHA, are paraben free, gluten free, nut free and 100% vegan. Our solutions contain NO harsh chemicals or harmful preservatives.

Is spray tanning safe?

Our products have aloe, white tea, and DHA (acronym of Dihydroxyacetone) which has been used in the cosmetic industry for over 30 years and was listed with the FDA in 1973. It is declared safe and suitable for use in cosmetics used to color the skin. DHA is derived from glycerin (sugar beets). DHA reacts to proteins and amino acids found on your outer layer of skin.

Can I still get a UV tan in addition to my spray tan?

Yes, just remember that spray tanning does not provide any sunscreen protection, so you should apply sunscreen accordingly.

How long should I wait after the application before I can shower or sweat?

We recommend 8 to 12 hours (1-3 hours with Rapid tans) for best results and doing a warm "rinse only" shower. Soap destroys DHA. The full DHA process takes about 24 hours to fully develop and react with your skins PH. Remember after your showers to pat yourself dry and use lots of moisturizer.

How can I minimize exfoliation from hot tubs, swimming pools and the ocean after my session?

After your tan has developed (24 hours) and after your first shower, you can minimize water activity exfoliation by liberally and frequently applying a good, strong waterproof sunscreen prior to submerging yourself. Chlorine can increase the rate of your skins exfoliation.

Will the tanning solution stain my clothes?

The bronzer will wash off your skin after your first post-tan shower. But until then, the colors added to the solutions may stain some fabrics (for example: nylon, silk, wool and polyester). However, a good soaking in water will usually lift any color from the fabric. Most fabrics and materials are completely safe from staining.
